Baghdad: AC Milan announced the renewal of veteran Croatian star Luka Modric's contract for another season. Milan stated, "One of the best and most renowned players in the history of world football, the Croatian will continue his journey in the Rossoneri jersey."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the midfielder will celebrate his 41st birthday in less than two months, but this did not prevent him from staying with the Rossoneri until June 30, 2027. Modric joined the Italian giants in 2015, scoring two goals in 37 appearances last season.

He was a runner-up in the 2018 World Cup with Croatia and won the Ballon d'Or that same year. He also won six Champions League titles during his time with Real Madrid between 2012 and 2015. In this summer's World Cup, he led Croatia to the round of 32, where they were dramatically eliminated by Portugal.
