Rafidain Bank Cautions Public Against Fraudulent Social Media Accounts

Baghdad: Rafidain Bank has firmly denied launching any competitions or financial grants, cautioning the public about the threats of electronic fraud.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the bank issued a statement highlighting the emergence of fake pages and accounts on social media that impersonate the bank. These fraudulent accounts have been promoting misleading advertisements, claiming to offer financial grants or to launch competitions and prizes. They often require users to subscribe to the bank's official Telegram channel or perform other actions to participate.

The bank stressed that these pages and accounts have no affiliation with Rafidain Bank. It clarified that the bank has not announced any promotional campaigns, competitions, or offers of financial grants.

Rafidain Bank urged citizens to refrain from interacting with these deceptive pages or responding to their advertisements. It warned against providing personal, banking, or verification information, such as codes or passwords, as these could be exploited to steal data, access accounts, or commit fraud and electronic extortion.
