Baghdad: The Iraqi Women Judges Association has announced its participation as an official sponsor of the Global Summit on Preventing the Recruitment of Children and Protecting Children Affected by Armed Conflict, which is set to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, in October 2026.

According to Iraqi News Agency, this announcement was made through a statement published on the Supreme Judicial Council website. The Association emphasized that the Summit serves as a significant international platform for dialogue and cooperation with the United Nations. It will address critical issues related to protecting children affected by armed conflict, preventing their recruitment, and discussing international humanitarian law and human rights.

The Association’s sponsorship of this initiative highlights its dedication to enhancing the protection of children during armed conflicts. Additionally, the Association seeks to support the rule of law, justice, and human rights while fostering international judicial and legal cooperation.

The participation in this summit also reflects the increasing involvement of Iraqi women in international forums and showcases the contributions of Iraqi female judges in shaping global legal discourse.
