Baghdad: US President Donald Trump has intensified his efforts to persuade Senate Republicans to employ the “nuclear option” in order to push through the Save America Act, which he has labeled as a critical piece of legislation for his administration. Trump has cautioned that failing to pass the bill could negatively impact the Republican Party’s prospects in the forthcoming midterm elections.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump communicated his appeal through a post on the Truth Social platform, advocating for the use of the “nuclear option.” This parliamentary tactic would permit the Senate to amend its rules with a simple majority vote, circumventing the usual 60-vote threshold required to end a filibuster and move forward with legislative voting.

In his message, Trump emphasized the urgency of passing the Save America Act before Congress enters its August recess, underscoring the importance he places on the bill’s passage within his legislative agenda.
