Baghdad: The Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Hussein Al-Awadi, announced on Saturday that approximately 11,000 personnel have been enrolled in the literacy program.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Awadi made the announcement during the first conference organized by the Executive Authority for Literacy in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Police Command. He affirmed the Ministry’s full support for the literacy program, emphasizing its commitment to using all available resources to ensure the program’s success. This includes preparing educational centers, providing necessary facilities, and coordinating with the Executive Authority for Literacy to enhance the educational level of Ministry personnel.

He further stated that the Minister of Education and Head of the Higher Authority for Literacy, Abdul Karim Abtan Al-Jubouri, announced the inclusion of approximately 11,000 Ministry of Interior personnel in literacy programs. This initiative aims to strengthen partnerships between state institutions, with the hope that the Ministry of Interior will be the first government institution to declare itself free of illiteracy.
