Baghdad: The Council of Ministers has decided to suspend official working hours on Monday and Tuesday, August 3-4, 2026, on the occasion of the Arba’een commemoration of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the decision reflects the significance of the event, which is observed by millions of people. The suspension of work is intended to allow citizens to participate in the commemoration activities. Arba’een marks the end of the 40-day mourning period following Ashura, the day Imam Hussein was martyred.
