Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi has urged political blocs to ensure women’s representation in completing the cabinet. In a speech at the Islamic Day Conference on Combating Violence Against Women, Amidi expressed his desire for a woman to be nominated for the position of Vice President or Deputy Prime Minister, or for the establishment of a Ministry of Women’s Affairs, independent of electoral quotas.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President emphasized his commitment to supporting and strengthening governmental and judicial efforts to combat corruption and those involved in it. He highlighted that stability in the region is unattainable without security in Iraq, and the nation’s strength is rooted in its unity and prioritization of national interests.

Amidi further stated the administration’s support for governmental and legal efforts aimed at eradicating corruption and recovering public funds. He underscored the collective responsibility to protect Iraq’s sovereignty and stability amid regional developments, reinforcing the importance of integrity and security for the nation’s progress.
