Kirkuk: The head of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Hafiz, convened with Acting Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohammed Nouri Ahmed, to deliberate on the state of the sports sector within the province. They were joined by Uday Awad, Director of Youth and Sports in Kirkuk.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting concentrated on assessing the current conditions and challenges facing the sports sector in Kirkuk. Key points of discussion included the status of sports facilities and the barriers preventing the progress of sports projects, with particular emphasis on the stalled Kirkuk Olympic Stadium project. The officials explored strategies to overcome these hurdles to ensure projects are completed within their designated timelines.

Al-Hafiz underscored the vital role of supporting the sports sector in Kirkuk, stressing the need to expedite the completion of delayed projects. He highlighted the significance of these initiatives in creating a robust sports environment that fosters
youth development and nurtures athletic talent.

The Acting Minister of Youth and Sports reiterated the ministry’s dedication to bolstering the sports sector in Kirkuk and other provinces. He assured that efforts would be made to eliminate hindrances to project execution, thereby enhancing sports infrastructure and benefiting the youth and athletes in the region.
