Basra: The Governor of Basra is actively overseeing the influx of visitors arriving from Kuwait at the Safwan border crossing. Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, along with Aqeel Al-Fariji, head of the Provincial Council’s Security Committee, visited the crossing early this morning to supervise the entry process of visitors from Kuwait and other Gulf states.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Governor Al-Eidani was joined by Brigadier General Anwar Al-Mansouri, Director of Civil Status, Passports, and Residency in Basra, as well as the Mayor of Safwan, Ghassan Al-Shuwaili, and members of the border crossing administration. They collectively assessed the efficiency of entry procedures and the overall flow of traffic at the border.

The governor emphasized the importance of speeding up the processing of visitors’ paperwork and facilitating entry procedures to maintain a smooth flow of traffic and ensure optimal service provision to those arriving. The Safwan border crossing had been temporarily closed due to an Iranian attack on the Kuwaiti Al-Abdali border crossing but was reopened following discussions between Governor Al-Eidani and the Kuwaiti Minister of Interior.
