Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command has announced the closure of eight liquor stores in the Karkh district for operating without the necessary licenses, thus violating the regulations set by the Tourism Authority.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command detailed in a statement that joint committees, including personnel from the Baghdad Operations Command and the Tourist Security Directorate, conducted a series of inspections targeting restaurants, halls, cafes, and stores. These operations aimed to enforce compliance with the Tourism Authority’s regulations.

The inspections led to the closure of eight stores that were found to be selling alcohol without licenses in various areas of the Karkh district. The Baghdad Operations Command emphasized its ongoing dedication to conducting similar inspections to identify and address violations, ensuring that legal measures are taken against those who disregard the established regulations.
