Al-Hakim Urges Strategic Solutions for Economic Challenges in Maysan

Baghdad: Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, emphasized the need for concerted efforts to serve the Maysan Governorate and its people. During a meeting with several members of parliament representing Maysan, al-Hakim highlighted the historical significance of the governorate and the heroism of its tribes and people in their resistance against dictatorship and terrorism. He urged diligent work to complete projects that would benefit the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim addressed the challenges facing Iraq, particularly the economic situation, which he described as a major challenge due to regional events and a decline in oil exports. He viewed this as an opportunity to pursue strategic solutions aimed at diversifying oil export outlets and reducing reliance on a single source of income.

Furthermore, al-Hakim stressed the importance of revitalizing various productive sectors in Iraq, including agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology. He underscored the need to invest in Maysan’s agricultural, industrial, and tourism potential, as well as its capabilities in the oil and energy sectors.

In addition, al-Hakim called for measures to support farmers, ensure a fair share of water for agriculture, revitalize the marshes, and combat desertification.
