Baghdad: The Roads and Bridges Department at the Ministry of Housing and Construction has announced the completion of the installation and stabilization of the Gaza Bridge in its final location.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the department revealed that the installation was executed using incremental thrust technology. This approach is noted for its ability to achieve the highest quality of execution while also saving time, effort, and cost by negating the need for work within the river basin. The department is now preparing to commence work on the approaches, asphalt paving, and other related tasks.

The total length of the Gaza Bridge, including its approaches, measures 1100 meters, with a 385-meter section spanning the Tigris River. The bridge serves as a crucial connection between the two banks of the river at the Zaafaraniya area and the Dora-Yusufiya Expressway. Structurally, it comprises six spans, with four spans measuring 70 meters each and two side spans of 52.5 meters each.
