Baghdad: The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, has ordered an investigation into a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Defense regarding the targeting of the Kingdom by drones allegedly launched from Iraqi territory.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directive was issued on Monday, instructing relevant security authorities to look into the claims made by the Saudi side. Sabah al-Nu’man, the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, emphasized Iraq’s constitutional commitment to good neighborliness and stated that Iraq will not permit its territory to be used for aggression against other nations.

Al-Nu’man further noted that an investigation is underway to examine the evidence and information provided. Legal action will follow against any individuals found to have participated in such activities, based on the results of the investigation. He reiterated that Iraq values its relations with Saudi Arabia, which are grounded in mutual respect and shared interests, and is committed to preventing any actions that could harm these ties.

The Iraqi government remains focused on safeguarding its security, asserting its sovereignty, and maintaining stability within its Arab and regional environment.
