Baghdad: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei has made clear Iran’s stance against American influence on the nation’s defense decisions, emphasizing that the country will not permit the United States to dictate the timing and duration of war and peace.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Baghaei affirmed at a press conference that Iran remains steadfast in its commitment to defend itself according to its national interests. He stated, “Iran will continue to defend itself in accordance with its interests,” and resolutely added, “We will not allow America to determine the timing and duration of war and peace.”
Baghaei also addressed recent tensions involving Ukraine, highlighting the incident of an Iranian ship being targeted. He described this as a “dangerous adventure” and warned that it would not go unanswered. He stressed that Iran will defend itself and will employ diplomatic channels to safeguard its national interests.
