Army Chief of Staff Council Reviews National Security and Military Preparedness

Baghdad: The Army Chief of Staff Council convened to discuss the national security situation and assess the readiness of military units, aiming to reinforce measures for maintaining stability. The meeting, chaired by Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, marked the 15th session of the Council for the year 2026 and included key military leaders such as the Senior Secretary of the Army Chief of Staff, Deputy Chiefs of Staff, the Inspector General, and commanders of various branches of the armed forces.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Defense issued a statement highlighting that the Chief of Staff addressed the security situation across the country, providing directives and recommendations. The focus was on the importance of vigilance and caution, ensuring unit readiness, and enhancing security measures.

The Council reviewed the main topics on the agenda, which included restructuring military personnel, establishing new commands, and equipping companies with combat vehicles. These discussions were aimed at improving the efficiency and performance of the military institution. All topics were thoroughly examined by Council members, who voted and made appropriate recommendations and decisions to strengthen the military's operational capabilities.
