Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, affirmed on Wednesday his categorical rejection of any attack that infringes upon Iraq’s sovereignty or targets its security forces in all their formations and branches, calling on the government to file an official complaint with the UN Security Council to hold the perpetrators accountable.

According to Iraqi News Agency, al-Dulaimi expressed condemnation and denunciation of what he described as the brutal American-Saudi aggression targeting Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters in several provinces. The attacks resulted in the martyrdom of a number of individuals and injuries to others, which he claims violate Iraq’s sovereignty and international laws.

The statement emphasized Iraq’s commitment to regional security and stability while rejecting accusations against Iraq for using its territory for attacks. Al-Dulaimi highlighted a lack of evidence and legal proceedings to substantiate such claims.

The statement called for a responsible government stance to defend Iraq’s sovereignty and urged activating legal and diplomatic channels for protection. Al-Dulaimi insisted on submitting a formal complaint to the UN Security Council to address the attacks and prevent recurrence.

Al-Dulaimi concluded by stressing that Iraq’s sovereignty and security are non-negotiable, emphasizing the national responsibility to safeguard the state’s prestige and institutions.
