Baghdad: The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Faleh al-Fayyad, affirmed on Wednesday the PMF's readiness to implement the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, to confront any attacks targeting Iraq and its security institutions. Al-Fayyad received the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, during his visit to the PMF headquarters," said the PMF's media office in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

According to Iraqi News Agency, he emphasized 'the PMF's readiness to implement all directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, ensuring the protection of the lives of PMF fighters, strengthening the country's security, preserving its sovereignty, and raising the level of preparedness to confront any attacks targeting Iraq and its security institutions.'

Earlier, Al-Zaidi visited the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Commission (PMF) on Wednesday, where he met with the Chairman of the PMF Commission, along with a number of its senior commanders and security officials.

The Commander-in-Chief received a detailed briefing 'on the attacks carried out against Iraq in the early hours of today, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several service members of the Popular Mobilization Commission across several provinces,' according to a statement from the PM Media Office, received by INA.

Al-Zaidi directed that 'the families of the martyrs be honored, comprehensive healthcare be provided to the wounded, and all necessary measures be taken to ensure they receive the required medical treatment, including transferring them abroad for treatment if their medical condition so requires.'
