Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi returned to Baghdad after concluding his official visit to the Turkish capital, Ankara.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the visit included a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.

During his stay in Ankara, Prime Minister Al-Zaidi chaired the Iraqi delegation in expanded talks with Turkish officials. These discussions aimed at strengthening economic and political ties between the two nations. Additionally, the Prime Minister sponsored the Iraq-Turkey Roundtable Meeting, a significant diplomatic event intended to foster dialogue and cooperation.

One of the key highlights of Al-Zaidi’s visit was overseeing the signing ceremony of four memoranda of understanding (MoUs). These MoUs are expected to enhance collaboration between Iraq and Turkey in various sectors. The first MoU focused on cooperation in the field of industrial property, signed between the Iraqi Ministry of Plan
ning and the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology.

The second MoU centered on academic training, formalized between the Iraqi Police College and the Turkish National Police Academy Presidency. This agreement aims to facilitate educational exchanges and joint training programs to bolster law enforcement capabilities in both countries.

An addendum to a previous memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the fields of youth and sports was also signed. This addendum seeks to expand the scope of engagement and collaborative efforts between the Ministries of Youth and Sports of Iraq and Turkey. The signing of these agreements signifies a commitment to deepening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of partnership.
