Baghdad: The head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, has condemned the recent Saudi-American attack targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) positions in Iraq. Al-Sudani expressed his outrage over the incident through a tweet on the X platform, highlighting the attack as a blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty and a serious transgression against the principle of Islamic brotherhood. He also emphasized that the attack constitutes a clear breach of international law and the UN Charter.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani pointed out that Iraq, through its official institutions, has consistently rejected the use of its territory for attacks on neighboring countries. He raised concerns about the timing of the attack, noting that it occurred shortly after the Iraqi government formed investigative committees to probe allegations of drone launches from Iraqi territory towards Saudi oil facilities. This formation of committees was a demonstration of Iraq's commitment to resolving issues through legal and institutional means, rather than resorting to military escalation.

Al-Sudani further asserted that Iraq retains all its legitimate rights under international law, including Article 51 of the UN Charter, to defend its sovereignty, territory, and people. He declared that any infringement upon Iraq's security and stability is intolerable and that such actions will not be accepted.
