Islamabad: Pakistan affirmed on Thursday its continued efforts to revive negotiations between the United States and Iran aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East. Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Hussain Andarabi explained during a press conference that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the joint statement between Pakistan and Qatar remain the fundamental framework for achieving a sustainable peace process. He emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy are the only ways to overcome current tensions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Andarabi stated that Pakistan is exerting its utmost efforts to bring the parties back to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and calls for maximum restraint and a commitment to resuming technical talks. He noted that the security situation in the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz remains fragile despite the relative calm of recent days.

Andarabi expressed his hope for de-escalation, a peaceful settlement, and the resumption of technical talks between the parties, indicating that Pakistan continues its diplomatic and strategic efforts to support regional stability and contribute to advancing the peace process.
