Baghdad: The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Faleh al-Fayyad, engaged in discussions with the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and the swiftly changing dynamics in the region. Al-Fayyad highlighted the recent American-Saudi attack targeting PMF headquarters as a breach of Iraqi sovereignty.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF issued a press release stating that al-Fayyad met with the Iranian Ambassador on Thursday. The discussions centered on security coordination and efforts to bolster security and stability in the region.

The statement further detailed that al-Fayyad expressed condolences to the Islamic Republic for the loss of Iranian advisors who were present at PMF headquarters during the attack, which targeted multiple locations across several provinces the previous night.

Al-Fayyad underscored the necessity for ongoing coordination and cooperation between Iraq and Iran to tackle the security challenges and address the swiftly evolving regional situation.
