Joint Government Efforts Aim to Support Over-Aged Students with Disabilities

Baghdad: The Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, along with the Ministry of Education's General Directorate of Public, Private, and Foreign Education, is implementing procedures to support students with disabilities in primary and secondary schools.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Education has issued executive procedures to the Directorates General of Education in Baghdad and other governorates, allowing the acceptance of students with disabilities who are over the legal age limit. These measures are based on regulations that consider the specific needs of these students and aim to ensure their continued educational progress.

Dhikra Abdul Rahim, head of the Commission, emphasized the ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Education and other relevant parties. She stated that the efforts are focused on monitoring the effective implementation of these procedures within legal frameworks to promote equal educational opportunities for all students.
