Basra: A suspect was apprehended in Basra for allegedly selling a plot of land to four different individuals, according to recent reports. Basra police arrested the individual involved in the fraudulent activity of selling the same plot to multiple buyers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Police Command revealed in a press release that officers from the Al-Asma'i Police Station took the suspect into custody. The arrest was made in compliance with Article (457) of the Iraqi Penal Code, which addresses fraud-related offenses.

The statement from the police detailed that the suspect sold a residential plot of land for 15 million dinars. It was later discovered that he had made similar transactions with four other people, and he refused to return the funds, delaying any repayment. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspect, and he has been referred to the competent authorities for further action.
