Baghdad: 'Great diplomatic leadership' is how US Envoy Barrack described the recent oil agreement between Iraq and Trkiye, which was confirmed by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi. This agreement focuses on the transfer and loading of Iraqi crude oil via the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline to the port of Ceyhan, marking a significant strategic achievement.

According to Iraqi News Agency, PM Al-Zaidi emphasized the importance of this milestone in a statement shared on X, highlighting the uninterrupted flow of oil exports and enhanced economic cooperation between Iraq and Trkiye. The agreement includes a minimum export capacity of 750,000 barrels per day, which underscores its strategic importance.

The agreement's implementation will involve Iraqi and Turkish companies, as both governments engage in a carefully planned process to finalize a comprehensive framework agreement. This framework will extend beyond oil to include sectors like electricity and water resources, aiming to advance shared interests and promote development and stability in the region.
