Amman: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, arrangements for the upcoming visit of the Iraqi security delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as reciprocal visits between the two sides at various levels. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that Minister Fuad Hussein met with the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting on Jerusalem, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia and discussed a number of issues of common interest, primarily the arrangements related to the upcoming Arab Summit. This included discussions on the proposed venue in light of the security developments in the region.

The two ministers also focused on the security repercussions in the region and their impact on oil export outlets and energy supply security. They addressed regional efforts and potential understandings aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister reviewed the Iraqi government's policy aimed at consolidating weapons under state control. The Saudi Foreign Minister expressed the Kingdom's support for the new Iraqi government and its efforts to enhance Iraq's security and maintain regional security and stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and joint action within the framework of the League of Arab States and regional frameworks, in order to serve common interests and enhance security and stability in the region.
