Diwaniyah: The governor of Diwaniyah, Abbas Shua'il al-Zamili, confirmed the exceptional success achieved in implementing the security and service plan for the Arba'een pilgrimage and indicated that the plan for the return movement of pilgrims would be even better than last year's.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zamili attributed the success of the Arba'een pilgrimage to the collective efforts of the people of Diwaniyah, the mobilization of the Husseini processions, service departments, security forces, and the Popular Mobilization Forces. These efforts were dedicated to providing the best possible services to the pilgrims.

Al-Zamili elaborated that the local government organized a security and service meeting with all relevant entities, including security agencies, the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Traffic Directorate, and service departments. During this meeting, an integrated plan was developed, with specific tasks distributed to department heads and security personnel, ensuring the successful implementation of the plan.

One of the significant achievements highlighted was the provision of water to the Husseini processions and Pilgrim throughout the governorate. This was accomplished through water projects and plants, along with the deployment of tankers from government departments and the Popular Mobilization Forces to secure the needs of pilgrims.

Al-Zamili noted a significant improvement in this year's pilgrimage compared to last year and expressed optimism for future visits, especially after the completion of infrastructure projects at the governorate's entrances.

Discussing the return plan for pilgrims, Al-Zamili confirmed that a meeting with the Supreme Committee for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage and the Governor of Holy Karbala resulted in an agreement to implement an integrated plan for the return of pilgrims. The central government and the Central Committee for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage assigned the responsibility of organizing the return of pilgrims to local governments, utilizing vehicles from both the public and private sectors.

Al-Zamili added that the governorate has prepared convoys of government vehicles, supplemented by contributions from donors, to ensure the smooth return of pilgrims. He emphasized that this year's reverse flow plan aims to meet the aspirations of pilgrims and will surpass the achievements of last year.
