Baghdad: The Baghdad Governorate announced today that official working hours will be suspended tomorrow at its headquarters in observance of the Arba'een commemoration of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Governorate indicated that the decision to suspend official working hours was based on a majority decision by the Baghdad Provincial Council. Ammar Farhan Al-Hamdani, the head of the Baghdad Provincial Council, announced that the suspension will apply to both the Baghdad Provincial Council and the Baghdad Governorate headquarters. This suspension is set to take place tomorrow, Sunday, August 2, 2026, in honor of the Arba'een commemoration of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
