Amman: The Foreign Minister of Iraq, Fuad Hussein, and his Tunisian counterpart, Mohamed Ali Nafti, underscored the significance of coordination and joint Arab efforts in confronting regional challenges during their recent meeting.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two ministers gathered on the sidelines of the Arab Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Amman to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral relations between Iraq and Tunisia. Their dialogue focused on expanding cooperation in various sectors, with particular emphasis on economic collaboration in the energy and oil industries, as well as the tourism sector.

The meeting also served as a platform to review current regional developments, including the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. The ministers expressed concern over the repercussions of military operations and tensions on energy security, highlighting how these factors contribute to rising inflation and economic challenges in the region.

The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the mutual agreement on the necessity of sustained coordination and joint Arab action. Both ministers stressed the importance of reinforcing the role of the League of Arab States to effectively address regional issues, thereby promoting security, stability, and the shared interests of Arab nations.
