President Nizar Amidi Highlights the Importance of Iraq’s Diplomatic Representation

Baghdad: The President of the Republic of Iraq, Nizar Amidi, has reiterated the vital importance of representing Iraq on the international stage as a significant national responsibility. He emphasized that this role involves efforts to reinforce the country's positive image.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Amidi articulated these views during separate meetings held at the Peace Palace in Baghdad. He met with Ambassador Ali Shamran, who has assumed his diplomatic duties as Iraq's ambassador to Spain, and Ambassador Krikor Derhakobian, who is now serving as Iraq's ambassador to the United States of America.

The Presidential Media Office released a statement in which President Amidi underscored the duty of Iraqi embassies abroad. He highlighted that these embassies hold a national mission in showcasing Iraq's civilized image, which comes with the responsibility of attending to the needs of Iraqi communities, defending the country's interests, and enhancing its presence in international forums. He extended his best wishes to the two ambassadors in their new roles.

Ambassadors Shamran and Derhakobian expressed their appreciation to President Amidi and pledged to work diligently to strengthen Iraq's bilateral relations with Spain and the United States. They also committed to developing joint cooperation across various fields to further Iraq's international standing.
