Baghdad: More than four million pilgrims have arrived in Iraq since the first of Muharram to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, as announced by the Security Media Cell (SMC) on Saturday.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the head of SMC, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, stated that the number of pilgrims has reached 4,007,257 since the beginning of Muharram until last night. This significant influx of pilgrims is part of the annual commemoration of Arbaeen, honoring Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
Lieutenant General Maan emphasized that security forces are actively working to ensure the safety and smooth movement of the pilgrims. Efforts are being made to provide a secure environment as the faithful gather for this important religious observance.
