Diwaniyah: An officer and three associates were detained after sexually assaulting a female detainee in Diwaniyah. A security source in Diwaniyah province reported that the Diwaniyah Police Chief, Major General Najah al-Bayati, detained a captain and three other officers after they sexually assaulted a female detainee at the al-Nahda police station.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, after the incident and the receipt of information, the police chief formed an investigative committee for the accused. The officer and the three accused officers were placed in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department for questioning and will be referred to the appropriate courts.
