Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Nizar Amidi, has reaffirmed the nation's commitment to ensuring justice for survivors and preserving their dignity, emphasizing that it is a national responsibility that cannot be compromised.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Amidi held a meeting with a delegation of survivors from the Yazidi, Christian, Turkmen, and Shabak communities. The meeting focused on their circumstances and explored ways to strengthen their rights and provide the necessary support to empower and reintegrate them into society. Minister of Justice Khalid Shawani was also in attendance.

During the discussions, President Amidi highlighted the importance of continuous care for the survivors and the provision of comprehensive recovery requirements, including psychological, social, health, and economic support. He stressed the need for effective implementation of programs and laws to guarantee their rights and establish justice, showcasing the state's commitment to protecting all its components and preserving the dignity of its citizens.

The President also stated that the atrocities committed by ISIS against various Iraqi communities, including Yazidis, Christians, Turkmen, and Shabak, will not be forgotten. He emphasized the necessity of holding the perpetrators accountable and ensuring justice, which he described as both a national and moral imperative. President Amidi called for ongoing national and international efforts to document these crimes and prevent impunity, thereby upholding the principles of justice and preserving them for future generations.

The survivors expressed their gratitude to President Amidi for his attention and dedication to their cases. They highlighted the importance of continued support to empower them to reclaim their roles in society and to foster coexistence and social peace.
