Abu dhabi: The Louvre Abu Dhabi has launched its summer film screenings program, titled "Art and Film," with an inaugural screening of the popular animated film "Aladdin." This initiative forms part of the museum's broader summer programs aimed at engaging visitors through a blend of visual and cinematic arts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the selection of films for this program draws inspiration from the museum's extensive collection of art and historical artifacts. The goal is to create an entertaining and educational experience that appeals to the whole family by bridging the gap between traditional art forms and contemporary cinematic storytelling.

The screening of "Aladdin" was uniquely paired with the presentation of an antique medallion carpet from the museum's collection, symbolizing the splendor of Islamic art and its storytelling motifs. This approach highlights the museum's commitment to linking its exhibits with the themes portrayed in the films.

Ali Ahmed Kashwani, Senior Production Officer at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, underscored the program's objective to connect timeless works of art with the film industry. He elaborated that the choice of "Aladdin" was inspired by the museum's antique Medallion Carpet, a Turkish artifact over 500 years old, which embodies the legendary "flying carpet" concept central to the film.

Kashwani also noted the cultural impact of the initiative, particularly for younger audiences. He stated, "This event primarily targets children, allowing them to see the direct connection between animated films and real works of art, thus contributing to building a generation with a passion for visiting museums."
