Istanbul: Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday afternoon to finalize his contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor. The 34-year-old landed at Ataturk Airport on a private plane from the Greek island of Mykonos, where he had been vacationing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a large crowd of fans of the club's maroon and blue jerseys greeted the Egyptian player. Salah, wearing a Trabzonspor jersey, greeted the fans and led the traditional three-part chant: "Ya Allah, Bismillah," amidst an atmosphere of great joy.

After greeting the fans, the Egyptian player left the airport in a car belonging to Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan. The club is expected to sign a two-year contract with Salah after he undergoes a medical examination at Maslak Acibadem Hospital.

Salah is also expected to travel to Trabzon this evening with Dogan and members of the club's board of directors. An open signing ceremony for the public will be held tomorrow at the Babara Park Stadium.
