Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday that France has deployed troops and drones to its border with Spain in response to the migration crisis in Ceuta. Macron wrote in a post on the X platform: "Four mobile force units, along with aircraft and drones, have been deployed (to the border with Spain)."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Spanish enclave of Ceuta has witnessed a massive influx of migrants, with nearly 60,000 people arriving in just a few hours, according to Ceuta's president, Juan Jesºs Vivas. This is the largest such influx the city has seen since 2021. Thirty-four migrants have died attempting to swim to the city, while Ceuta authorities have declared that reception centers have reached their maximum capacity and can no longer accommodate any more people.

In contrast, the Spanish Interior Ministry stressed that security cooperation with Morocco remains in place, announcing that Rabat and Madrid have agreed to strengthen coordination to address irregular migration flows and work to return those who entered Ceuta and Melilla illegally as quickly as possible.
