Erbil: Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw met on Sunday with Iranian Consul General in Erbil, Faramarz Asadi, to discuss arrangements for the arrival of Iranian pilgrims through the Haji Omran border crossing to Erbil to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (PBUH).

According to Iraqi News Agency, Khoshnaw visited the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil accompanied by Erbil Provincial Council Chairman Ali Rashid, Deputy Governor Heman Qadir, Head of the Kurdistan Region-Iran Relations Department Shaker Hussein, and Director of Internal Affairs Brig. Gen. Khosro Ghazi. The Consul General, Faramarz Asadi, received the delegation, and the meeting focused on procedures for the arrival of Iranian pilgrims to Erbil. The pilgrims aim to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and visit Iraq's holy sites via the Haji Omran border crossing before proceeding to Erbil.

During the meeting, Khoshnaw offered his condolences to the Iranian consul general on the death of his mother, expressing hope that it would be the last bereavement for his family. The Iranian consul general expressed his appreciation for the visit by the Erbil governor and the accompanying delegation.
