Israel Braces for Expected US Military Action Against Iran

Jerusalem: Israel had prepared last night for a major US attack on Iran, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority. The preparations included targeting energy facilities and infrastructure, highlighting the significant level of alert in Israel due to the fear of an Iranian response.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, despite the heightened alert, former President Donald Trump ordered the cancellation of the attack after a period of tense and stressful hours in Israel and throughout the Middle East. This marked the second instance within a week where the United States informed Israel of potential military action, only to retract the plan at the last minute without providing any explanation.

The report emphasized that Trump's inconsistent decisions are impacting operational readiness, making it challenging for Israel to prepare and plan for future scenarios effectively. Thousands of officials in the Israeli military and security sectors were on standby over the weekend, ready for a potential regional escalation.

The situation has also raised questions regarding Iran's uranium stockpile and the Trump administration's commitments concerning Tehran's conduct. Current discussions are primarily focused on the Strait of Hormuz, but the resolution of other related issues remains uncertain.
