Baghdad: More than 4.4 million pilgrims have entered Iraq from abroad to attend the Arbaeen pilgrimage, with no security breaches recorded, the Security Media Cell said on Sunday. The head of the Security Media Cell, Lt. Gen. Saad Maan, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the number of foreign pilgrims entering Iraq through all border crossings since the first day of Muharram had reached 4,465,079.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Maan highlighted that pilgrim traffic remained heavy, with arrivals through Iraq's border crossings continuing steadily. He assured that the flow of pilgrims along all routes was proceeding smoothly without any security breaches, as senior commanders and field officers actively oversaw security operations.

Maan also mentioned that the reverse movement of pilgrims returning home was underway. He noted that service efforts were on high alert, with enhanced traffic management, civil defense measures, and intensified intelligence operations across all sectors.

Furthermore, Maan stated that the prime minister has been monitoring the Arbaeen security and service plans through ongoing directives and support for all committees operating under the Higher Committee for the Million-Person Pilgrimage. This oversight, he said, has significantly contributed to the success of the plan, providing the flexibility needed to improve services for pilgrims.
