Tashkent: Uzbekistan's Pakhtakor FC has officially announced the signing of Iraqi national team striker Ayman Hussein.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the club revealed in a press release that the 30-year-old athlete has committed to a contract extending until the end of the season. Hussein, known for scoring Iraq's lone goal in the last World Cup, is expected to bring significant experience and skill to the team.

The statement from Pakhtakor FC highlighted Hussein's extensive career, noting his past affiliations with various clubs. His career includes playing for Iraqi teams such as Duhok, Naft, Al-Shorta, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, and Karma. Beyond Iraq, he has also been part of Tunisian club CS Sfaxien, Qatari clubs Umm Salal, Al-Merreikh, Al-Khor, Al-Wakrah, Emirati club Al-Jazira, and Moroccan club Raja Casablanca. Over the years, Hussein has amassed an impressive record, scoring 120 goals in league matches for his clubs and 34 goals for the Iraqi national team. Additionally, he has made his mark in the Olympic Games and World Cup finals with notable performances.

Hussein's signing is seen as a strategic move for Pakhtakor FC, aiming to enhance their squad's offensive capabilities as they navigate the current season.
