Ankara: The Turkish Foreign Ministry has urged the international community to adopt a firm stance against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's expansionist and militaristic policies, warning that continued Israeli attacks on Gaza could escalate the conflict in the Middle East.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry released a statement emphasizing the need for a resolute and cohesive international response to Netanyahu's approach, which it claims aims to transform the Middle East into a battleground. The statement criticized the Netanyahu government's actions following an agreement on a roadmap for implementing the Gaza peace plan, highlighting the killing of more than 30 civilians and the targeting of healthcare facilities in Gaza as evidence of Israel's lack of genuine commitment to peace with the Palestinians.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry further stated that Netanyahu's primary goal is to displace Palestinians and prevent peace and stability in the region. It accused the Israeli leader of taking destabilizing actions that undermine the efforts of mediating countries, especially the United States. The ministry called on all nations supporting peace and prosperity in the region to act with a shared sense of responsibility and to uphold international law and humanitarian values.
