Baghdad: The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, reaffirmed his support for a stable and unified Syria where the rights of all components are protected during his visit to Damascus on Monday.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Barzani expressed his optimism about Syria's future prospects after meeting with President Ahmed al-Sharaa. Barzani highlighted that Syria, after years of suffering, now faces a historic opportunity for recovery, reconstruction, and prosperity. He voiced confidence in President al-Sharaa's leadership and vision, emphasizing the potential for Syria to achieve greater stability and prosperity for all its people.

Barzani also discussed the significance of Syria's role in promoting regional peace, security, and stability. He noted the shared interests between Syria, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region due to their common borders, and he underscored the opportunities to expand economic cooperation among them for mutual benefits.
