Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi received an official invitation on Sunday to attend the 8th Baghdad Dialogue Conference, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on August 21 and 22, 2026.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, the Director of the Institute, Abbas al-Amiri, presented an overview of the preparations being made by the conference's organizing committee and the efforts underway to ensure its success. The conference will feature the participation of a select group of political and academic figures and think tanks from across Iraq.

For his part, the Speaker praised the efforts of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue in promoting a culture of dialogue and strengthening communication among various parties. He emphasized the importance of intellectual and dialogue-based events in discussing the issues and challenges facing Iraq and the region.
