Nineveh: Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil, during a meeting with representatives of the United Nations and international organizations, highlighted the necessity of international support for the health sector in the province. The focus was particularly on projects aimed at rehabilitating and developing health institutions. Al-Dakhil shared that the inauguration of the cancer hospital in Mosul marks a significant step towards enhancing medical services, emphasizing the need for ongoing international collaboration to advance health infrastructure and provide specialized services.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Dakhil stated that the Nineveh government is actively coordinating with the Ministry of Health, the United Nations, and international organizations to implement programs that serve citizens and bolster stability and development within the province. The UN representative confirmed the organization's commitment to supporting Nineveh's initiatives to improve the health sector, noting that enhancing medical services is a critical priority during the recovery and reconstruction phase.

The UN representative further mentioned that the United Nations would continue working with the local government and the Ministry of Health to channel international support towards essential health projects. The meeting also delved into expanding cooperation mechanisms with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), international organizations, and the German Development Bank (KfW), aiming to facilitate the implementation of sustainable service and development projects.

Both parties underscored the importance of sustained international partnerships to support stability and elevate health service standards in Nineveh.
