Basra: The Security Committee of the Basra Provincial Council reported that more than 1.35 million visitors crossed the Shalamcheh border during the Arbaeen pilgrimage. This revelation is part of a strategic plan to handle the flow of pilgrims marking the Arba'een of Imam Hussein.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Aqeel Al-Fariji, the head of the committee, stated that over 750,000 pilgrims arrived through the Shalamcheh crossing, while departures were more than 600,000. This brings the total number of crossings to over 1,350,000 pilgrims.
Al-Fariji emphasized his direct engagement with the director of the Shalamcheh border crossing, passport officers, and the police station. He is actively monitoring the latest statistics related to the flow of pilgrims for the Arba'een of Imam Hussein on the final day of the pilgrimage.
