Baghdad: The head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Al-Waeli, has confirmed the preparedness of border crossings to manage the return of visitors following the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Border Ports Authority released a statement indicating that Lieutenant General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli personally supervised the return of pilgrims at the Zurbatiyah border crossing. His visit aligned with his direct oversight of the pilgrims' smooth departure through various border crossings, as directed by the Prime Minister and in accordance with the Supreme Committee's plan for this significant religious event.

The statement further noted that Al-Waeli, during his field visit, highlighted the Border Ports Authority's operation under a comprehensive plan. This plan is coordinated with security and service agencies to ensure an efficient flow of departing pilgrims. The goal is to deliver exemplary services that project Iraq's cultured image and showcase excellent organization and hospitality during this major religious occasion.

Al-Waeli elaborated that the Border Ports Authority staff are working tirelessly to expedite departure procedures, manage the large influx of pilgrims, and minimize waiting times. This effort is to guarantee a smooth traffic flow and confirm the readiness of the border crossings until the completion of operations, resulting in the successful reverse migration of pilgrims.
