Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of several individuals involved in a harassment incident in the Mansour district of Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a ministry statement revealed that following directives from the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Hussein Al-Awadi, Mansour police units acted swiftly after a video circulated on social media documenting the harassment of a girl in the Mansour area. The police investigated the incident and took necessary measures.

The statement further explained that the team obtained judicial approvals, tracked down the perpetrators, and identified them, leading to the arrest of several individuals shortly after the video’s release. The accused were detained in accordance with Article (402) of the Iraqi Penal Code and referred to the relevant authorities to complete the investigation and take legal action against them.
