Ceuta: The Spanish army is on high alert in anticipation of a new wave of migration to Ceuta. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the armed forces command in the Spanish city of Ceuta has ordered military personnel to prepare to prevent a new attempt to cross the city’s borders, amid warnings of a new wave of migration on August 15.

Cadena SER radio reported that the Ceuta General Command has instructed all military personnel, without exception, to be on high alert. They are tasked with preventing any attempts to cross the city’s borders, and military leave has been canceled until further instructions are issued.

The newspaper 20 Minutos previously reported that calls were circulating on social media to organize a new wave of migrants toward Ceuta on August 15. This prompted the Spanish authorities to take precautionary measures.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro S¡nchez had earlier described the mass influx of migrants across the border as an “attack” and a violation of the country’s territorial integrity. In response, authorities have deployed additional police, Civil Guard, and armed forces units to the city to maintain control.
