Najaf: The Najaf Provincial Council expressed its dissatisfaction with Governor Youssef Kanawi’s request to replace department directors and rejected the alternative names he proposed. The council’s media center stated in a press release: “The council held an extraordinary session today, Monday, to consider the issue of changing department directors in the province.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the names of the candidates submitted by Governor Youssef Kanawi for eleven departments did not satisfy the council members, and it was agreed to ask him to reconsider them. Sources within the session confirmed differing opinions among council members regarding the issue of changing, dismissing, or retaining the current department directors in the province.
