Baghdad: The Ministry of Education and the Media Authority are taking steps to enhance joint cooperation and support digital transformation in Iraq’s education sector. The head of the Executive Authority of the Media and Communications Commission, Baligh Abu Kalal, recently met with the Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri, to discuss initiatives aimed at developing educational and technological projects.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Executive Authority confirmed that the Commission has allocated a total of 20 billion dinars to the Ministry of Education through the Universal Service Fund. The Commission is also ready to support new educational projects that aim to strengthen the sector’s infrastructure.

During the meeting, both parties explored a range of issues of mutual interest. These included licensing electronic platforms approved by the Ministry, enhancing educational television, supporting schools for gifted students, developing the educational information system, establishing model laboratories, and supporting Al-Farah Schools for Orphans.

To ensure the effective implementation of their plans, a joint high-level committee will be formed. This committee will coordinate efforts between the two institutions, follow up on project implementation, and address any obstacles to ensure the rapid completion and achievement of their goals.
