Baghdad: The Federal Integrity Commission announced today the arrest of an employee of the Ministry of Interior in Baghdad, who was caught red-handed receiving a bribe from a citizen and violating his job duties.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was conducted by the staff of the Baghdad Investigation Directorate. A team from the Directorate proceeded to the branch of the Directorate of Nationality and Civil Information on Rashid Street, where they apprehended an employee in the act of receiving $1,800 from a citizen in exchange for neglecting his official duties.
The Commission further explained that the judge of the Rusafa Investigation Court, which specializes in integrity cases, ordered the detention of the accused in accordance with the law. This decision followed the recording of the accused’s statement, the preparation of a formal arrest report by the arresting team, and the presentation of the accused before the judge.
